- Even though you have several different audiences, you'll have one main group that you focus on and most of your content will be created to appeal to these people. That means you need a clear, consistent brand personality that your main audience can relate to and trust. It might seem weird to think of your website or apps having personality, but they do whether you design it in or not. If you don't consciously work on a personality it's likely to be a confusing mix of your general company culture and the way a couple of key content contributors or advertising agency staff write. Having an inconsistent personality or tone can be confusing to people, and any time you're truly off brand it can mean that people don't trust your content because they just don't believe it comes from the same place as the rest of your brand identity.
