- Voice interfaces are not new, but there's been a push 2 in this space with products like Amazon Alexa, 3 Google Assistant, Microsoft's Cortana and Apple's Siri. 4 All of these devices and digital assistants 5 are voice controlled. 6 A benefit to having a voice controlled interface 7 is that it allows users to multitask. 8 For example, if you're cooking in the kitchen, 9 you can ask any one of these products 10 to read out the ingredients for the recipe 11 without stopping what you're doing. 12 While there's no interface for voice, 13 there's a lot of design thinking 14 that goes into designing for voice interaction 15 and a lot of limitations from a technology perspective. 16 You may have noticed in your own experience 17 with these products that it's sometimes difficult 18 to get the answer you're looking for 19 without asking your question in a certain way. 20 We have expectations for how a conversation should flow 21 and…
