- Once you have initial groupings, examine the findings one at a time, looking for similarities, connections, and patterns. You may end up making new subgroups or start to visualize things like the frequency of a pain point. Then, you'll want to start comparing the groups and do the same process, looking for connections and patterns across the groups. You may want to create additional tags if you notice something new, like how big an impact a particular issue has on different kinds of users. You'll also want to look for new ways to group the items, variations within the groups or other connections. Make sure to do this sorting process collaboratively, and give yourself ample time. Do more than one round of sorting, as the first grouping will almost always most closely match your preconceptions. The process of re-sorting and re-framing will help lead to the deepest insights.
