Sorting

- [Instructor] Sorting is a really easy way to help make some better sense of your data. And it's really easy to pull off in Tableau. Let's go ahead and connect to the course file and see how to sort within Tableau. I think, for this example, we should probably use the sales by state data source. Once you've connected to the data source, click over to Sheet 1, and now we can see how to sort. Let's drag in state ID. Now, automatically, it pulls up a map. But we don't have to stay here. We can click the Show Me tab and change from a map to a text table visualization. Now we have all the state IDs in a text table. We then can add in sales. So now this is where a sort would be really useful. I can't really make sense of any of this data right now, but if we hit this dropdown menu and select Sort, we now have an option to play around with how the data is structured here.
