Why upgrade to .NET 8?

In previous video, I talked about all the different versions of .NET, and in this one, I'll tell you more about the latest one, .NET 8, and why you might want to upgrade to it. There are many great reasons why .NET and the latest .NET, .NET 8 is much better than previous versions, and especially better than .NET Framework. I want to start with my favorite one, which is performance. With every release, we are making .NET more performant. The difference between .NET Framework and the latest .NET is incredible, but even over .NET Core 3.1 here on the slide, you can see the percentage gain of performance for web apps and web APIs. We are improving performance with every version of .NET every release, so, by simply retargeting to the latest version, you're making your apps way faster, and more performant for free.
