This combination of technologies is able to provide the best of local computing with the power of leveraging remote cloud servers. Edge computing uses democratized infrastructure for computation where data processing takes place closer to both the data source and endpoint device without solely depending on centralized cloud servers. When using edge computing technology, local processing accelerates data transmission times and diminishes latency. This is needed in cases that leverage generative AI, such as autonomous vehicles or industrial automation, which is useful for IOT device.
