- [Instructor] So what's next for edge-based computing applications? Well, there's some exciting things that are coming in the future. The ability to leverage edge computing to deal with microrobotics or even leveraging robotics systems that we're able to inject in our own bodies. The ability to leverage edge-based systems to attack the climate change problem. Reduction of carbon emission through the smarter use of power, the smarter use of agriculture, and the smarter use of vehicles. The ability to deal with application portability between various cloud, edge node, and device nodes and doing so, really, as we need to move the applications and data and in between those systems. Right now it's a fairly complex process to move one application and one data set from a cloud to an edge node, from an edge node to a device node, from a device node to an edge node, and all points in between.
