- [Instructor] So what kind of infrastructure do we need to run an edge computing system? Well, first and foremost, we need sensors, we need the ability to gather information and bring it into the edge computing device, either the device that's closest to the sensors or another edge-based system that may sit between the sensor system, the edge device, and the centralized computing. So we need to consider things such as sensor standards that are starting to emerge. In other words, if we're going to buy sensors, it's probably a good idea to buy sensors that are adhering to a particular standard, and therefore we can buy sensors from multiple vendors, and if they adhere to the standards, they should all work and play well together. You need to consider security; in other words, making sure that the information coming off of these sensors, in some cases it can be very sensitive, such as information coming off a medical device,…
