- For the past decade, I've hosted a big Lunar New Year celebration at my home each year. I live in a community that doesn't have many Asian people. I'm actually usually the only one at the party. So it matters to me to share this important communal holiday with my chosen community. A few years ago, I decided to invite more people from my team at work. I sent out an email with the subject line, "Happy year of the Ram," and waited for the RSVPs. Many of my colleagues decided to come. Others said they couldn't make it, but sent sincere best wishes.
