Cellular wireless and Wi-Fi

- [Instructor] One of the requests you're going to get from your staff who work remotely is they're going to want to connect to wireless access points out in public, which we cannot allow them to do, and that's because it could cause all different types of security issues. So we can use the built-in cellular service to connect to the internet. Now, some tablets and computers also have cell plans, and if that's the case, then you won't have to worry about trying to connect through a tethering hotspot on your phone. You can just have them go ahead and go directly out, connect to VPN, and then they'll be able to connect into the office. However, not very many people have that, because it's a large expense to add that to every staff member, so you can use your cell service as a hotspot. Now, there's another device that we generically refer to as a MiFi device, but that is a publicly marketed product, and there's lots of different brands out there, but this is how we refer to it generally.…
