- Whether your rig is custom built to perform a specific task, or designed to be as versatile as possible and ready for a wide variety of projects, the expectation is that once the system is stable, we should be able to rely on it to work predictably and consistently. While we should strive for solid, dependable setups, small changes and adjustments are inevitable and normal. In a project studio situation, connections are made and unmade, configurations are changed slightly and changed back. And with a portable setup that's regularly assembled and disassembled in different settings, change is constant. So it's small wonder that a recent change is one of the most routine causes of unexpected gear behavior. Intended slide modifications are likely to result in one or more unintended changes, and even though these various shifts and inconsistencies are so common, it's still easy to be unaware of them.
