- It's human nature that the longer you're involved with someone or something, whether it's a personal relationship or a job, the harder it's going to be for you to disconnect emotionally after you've ended it. When you separate from a job for whatever reason, you may very well experience a sense of loss. It's important that you bounce back quickly, particularly because you'll be putting yourself out there when you start looking for your next career opportunity. People can sense if you're not feeling good about yourself and you want to put your best face forward, so to speak. There are two ways to this. One, losing a job or changing jobs can be life altering, so it's important that you ask your friends and family to provide you with some positive acknowledgement and reinforcement.
