It's important to tend to your relationships the same way you would tend to your plants. Some might not need to be watered every day or even every week, but at some point they'll need your attention. That's where a social outreach practice comes in. To start your outreach practice, I want you to make a list of all the people in your life that you'd like to connect with more regularly. Friends, family members, colleagues, coworkers from past jobs. Really anyone who you want to stay connected to or get to know better. Take a second to create and review this list. How does it feel to see all of these people you care about written down in one place? Next, decide which day of the week and time you're going to do your outreach. I do mine on Monday mornings. Put it on your calendar as a recurring event. Now, each week at that time, you're going to reach out to one person on your list. It often only takes 5 or 10 minutes.
