- Humans are prone to error. In fact, making mistakes and then learning from them is a way of life. When you're first learning to walk, you fall down and you get back up. Studies show that humans make a whopping 50 errors on average every day. Fortunately, learning from mistakes is also the best way to grow. But what if you have too much at stake to risk error? Learning to walk is one thing, making adult level choices is another. Relying purely on gut feeling or intuition is ill-advised in decision-making because it opens the door wide to subjectivity and bias. You can balance this out by adding data into your decision making process, which will make outcomes more objective, accurate, and fair.
