- In my Time Management Fundamentals course, I talk a lot about processing, deciding what to do with something, when to do it, and where it belongs. Working from home adds an extra twist, juggling both work and personal items in the same space. It can feel overwhelming, but with a few simple strategies, you can turn it into an advantage if you can. I highly recommend processing work and personal items together. It saves time, helps you find your flow, and makes it easier to keep your calendar balanced. On average, you'll need about five to seven hours a week for this. But if work policies require you to separate work and personal time, don't worry. Just set up two processing blocks. It might add an hour or two, but it's still manageable. The goal is to create a consistent and scheduled recurring weekly routine for processing. I also recommend combining your gathering points if possible.
