- When you're working from home, virtual meetings deserve preparation and thoughtfulness. The way you communicate with coworkers in these meetings often determines both the quality of your work relationships and the team's productivity. Think about the things you'd naturally do to make an in-person meeting successful and apply that same mindset to your virtual ones. For example, you'd schedule meetings in advance to avoid conflicts. You'd arrive on time. You'd give your coworkers your full attention. You'd make appropriate eye contact. You'd ensure you could see and hear everyone clearly. And you'd show up prepared to share your work for collaboration. The good news is that you can do all of these things virtually too with a few adjustments.
