Texture cleanup using frequency separation
- Retouching skin, especially around edges, and detailed edges like hair lines is one of the hardest things to do. But luckily, since we are using frequency separation, it makes it much simpler for Photoshop to do the processing behind what we're trying to ask Photoshop to do, which is make this hairline or the edge a lot more finite. So it's not as blendy in that area, and I'll show you exactly what I mean but this is when the texture settings on our texture layers are going to come into play, and they're going to become very important. So the same way that I turned the texture layers off in order to modify the color, I may just for a moment, take my high texture and detail layer and revert the blend mode from linear light back to normal. And the reason why I think it's important to do this is to show you what Photoshop is calculating when you ask it to change something on this specific layer. This is…
