Skill four: Strategic foresight

- The fourth one we go into is strategic foresight. So this is where I think the magic happens. It's really what connects the dots. So we start with big picture understanding, big high level. We then go to situational awareness, which is all about where we are, future focused, is all about where we're going and strategic foresight says, well how do I get from here to there? It connects the dots. It fills in all of those steps. So it's kind of where you're thinking about what the possibilities of the future might look like and saying, okay well what steps can I take to avoid problems? To leverage opportunities, overcome obstacles? It's basically filling in those gaps. Our former Secretary of State, Colin Powell used to tell leaders to look for people who can see around corners, and that's what this is.
