AI-enhanced whiteboarding in action: Sample tools
- [Instructor] For our virtual whiteboard experience, we're going to use Canva as an example. And so let's walk through some of the basic features that you get, and then I'll share how AI is embedded throughout this experience to further enhance your whiteboarding presentations. So to start off, the great thing, as I mentioned, with virtual whiteboards is that you have infinite space. So right now, we see what I would probably be presenting to my customer, you have the base template. However, when I'm done filling out this entire template, I can zoom out and have even more space to my disposal to be able to continue to add more content and continue the story. And with it being virtual, you're able to share and export this as a PDF or an image to then send to your customer. In addition to having infinite space, let's walk through some of the additional features that you get. So for example, you have a timer. Let's say you want to collaborate and have everyone put information on the screen, give you some ideas, you can time box that with this visual timer, and everyone will be able to know where are we at the five-minute mark. In addition, you are able to paste on different elements onto the screen. And so with Canva, when I click onto Elements, I'm able to have access to tables. So if I want to add a table to my story, easily be able to add that here without having to hand create some type of table to add to my image here. And then you have the basic shapes. So as I mentioned, to be really good at telling a story, you really just need to know basic shapes, lines, letters, and numbers. So Canva has all that here available for you to just click and add to the screen, change your color, and add any additional aspects that you'd want to have to this experience. And then what's helpful is that when you do add visuals to the screen, you can also do something when you create a shape right next to it. So this is like a quick flow. So when I select this arrow next to the shape, I'm able to add another one, and then be able to connect my entire story here. This is really helpful for like technical graphs, customer journey mapping, when there's step-by-step experiences. And by having this visually on the screen, everyone is able to align with what your story is. So my story is that I go from here, here, and here, and I want to make sure the customer confirms that that is the step that we're taking. If not, we can easily just delete it and change the experience. So all about visually bringing in customer engagement and telling a story that everyone is able to understand and confirm. In addition to basic shapes, you also have other elements within Canva like Graphics, and we even have the ability to use Magic Media, which is Canva's AI generation to create images for us. So I have one spin up here that's for a server. So I'm creating a tech stack example. I want to pull in an example of what a server situation would look like for the customer, the before and after of their current tech stack. Let's try another one. Let's say I now want to depict where the cloud is for their technology. So I'll go ahead and put the cloud in here, and then be able to use the graphic that I'm provided here to add that to the screen. Once you have the options available to you, go ahead and select whichever one suits your fancy, and then add it to the screen. And right now, I have the image generation under Graphics, but you could also go onto Images and have more realistic views of what you're looking for, and so and so forth, with things like videos and such. There's also the capability to draw and then have Canva refine what you're drawing. So let's look an example. So let's use a better color. Here we go. I want to show what's happening here between this server and this server, so I can easily draw what's going on. And then if the customer's like, "No, no, no, It's the other way around," you can just go ahead and erase and have this dynamic conversation of what's happening with your customer's technology. In addition, you do have access to a ton of different other AI functionalities and Canva apps. So when you come to Canva apps, not only do you have the Magic Media aspect, but if you just go in here and search under the AI-powered options, you can add in voice, you can add in image enhancers, the list goes on and on. This was just an example of what it looked like to be able to use kind of what's built in with Canva to be able to enhance your presentations. This is all built in with the Free Canva edition. You don't need Canva Pro. So I highly suggest you go into Canva, go under their whiteboarding template and try out a little bit of the features that we just walked through here. My final last hot tip for presentations, you see how there's lines and sticky notes on the side of this overall template, I do always like to have the lines and post-its already at my disposal on the side, so that when I'm mid-conversation, I don't need to go over here to the panel to grab anything. I can just say, "All right, let me put in a note here to do this or do that." And it makes it really helpful to just keep the conversation going a little bit smoother.
