Challenge yourself to beat boredom

- Several episodes ago here at The Practicing Photographer, we started talking about boredom, getting bored with photography. I told you about my own experience with boredom and how I got inspired again by hacking my camera to shoot at a different aspect ratio. As I mentioned early on, once you realize you're bored, you have to engage in some work to figure out how to get past that boredom. That work might involve some introspection and might require some creativity to find a way to get yourself excited again. This week I'd like to offer some things to think about and activities to try to help you identify and get past those times when you're bored with shooting. The first thing I would like to point out is that if you take photographs as part of your job, then you face a particularly difficult challenge if you're bored. It's easy to think, oh, the photos I take for work are different than the photos I shoot for myself, so there shouldn't be a problem when I go shooting my own stuff…
