- AI, wanting to helpful, tries to imitate human capabilities, right? A natural capability of humans is that we have five senses through which we experience the world. Computers can already mimic some of those senses in various ways, and we are going to talk through them. But let's start with how computers see through computer vision technology. Computer vision is a technology that is able to do photo and video analysis in an automatic way. Meaning, it can see what's on the picture or even what is around us and can recognize certain objects, facial expressions, or missing elements in the picture. In less than a decade, today's computer vision systems have reached 99% accuracy, for example, in certain medical images recognition, object recognition, or recognizing people in photos, making these systems more accurate than humans at quickly reacting to visual inputs.
