- [Instructor] There's a saying that prediction is hard, especially when it's about the future. Now, that's been attributed to about a million people, although it appears to be a Danish proverb. Of course, here in the data science world, we're not using crystal balls. We're using the best data that we have available to us. We're using the best algorithms that we know. And we're doing our best to make justifiable, verifiable database predictions. Still, prediction is fundamentally a hard task, as anybody who has lived through the pandemic knows all too well. Part of the problem is that analysis is always a simplification. That's not escapable. That's what analysis is. It's a simplification of the data. And you usually try to make it as simple as possible without being too simple and there's a balance there that can be very difficult to find.
