(upbeat music) (gentle music) - Some of the policy measures that the United States have taken to date. And I will admit that it hasn't been comprehensive yet, but these are foundational steps that are certainly needed without question. A lot of people question the merits of industrial policy. And I'll defend it like the CHIPS act in the following way, when countries like the United States have just let industries recede for such a long time, and we don't have the luxury of time to get these industries back up and running in a healthy way that we need, we need government revenue, we need capital to basically catalyze the growth of the industry in a very expedited expeditious way. So there is, therein lies the merit of industrial policy is when you really need a catalyst to spark the growth of an industry really fast.
