The eight AI maturity dimensions

When we build the AI maturity framework, we had to answer a fundamental question. What actually determines whether an organization is mature at AI? It's not just having the right tools, it's not just having the skilled people, it's not just having good data. It's all of those things and more working together. AI capability is organizational, not technological, and that's why we measure across eight dimensions. The first three are data, technology, and operations. We call these the Infrastructure Index. These are your foundational capabilities. Can AI access your institutional knowledge? Do you have the right infrastructure and models to fit those needs? Is AI embedded into how work actually happens? Without infrastructure, everything else struggles. You can have great strategy and skilled people, but if your data is inaccessible or your operations aren't designed for AI, nothing will scale. That's true.
