Ethical considerations
- [Instructor] Let's get serious for a moment and talk about the ethical considerations of using AI in project management. Today, we're covering three key points. First, importance of ethical AI usage. Second, real world ethical dilemmas. And thirdly, ensuring your AI use aligns with your values. First up, why ethical AI usage is really important? Consider this as laying the foundation for every AI driven project you manage. Say you're using ChatGPT to automate project updates. You don't want people to assume it's you making updates if it wasn't, especially if the content is missing some key context. For example, you could add a disclaimer to the automated messages stating this update was auto-generated with the help of ChatGPT. This lets everyone know that you're being transparent. You want to be open and honest that an AI tool is helping you create these updates because transparency fosters trust. Onto ethical dilemmas, you might think of using ChatGPT to generate risk assessments for project planning. Sounds smart, but take a minute to think about the ethical implications. Are we replacing human intuition and oversight? What's that right balance? Your company may have guidelines about what kinds of tasks can be automated and which ones require human effort. Make sure you're aligned with these when using chat GPT or any AI tool, know these rules. If they don't exist, start that conversation. When in doubt, always ask Just because we can, should we? So what can you do? Lastly, we come to value alignment. If you're in healthcare project management in the United States, for example, look at AI tools that are HIPAA compliant. This is a special rule to keep your health information safe and private. Choose AI tools that are clearly labeled as HIPAA compliant. To be clear chat, GPT lives on open AI servers and they're not HIPAA compliant. Always ensure the tool's data policies align with your sector's regulations and your company's values. Here's a reflection question, have you read the data policies of the AI tools you use? If not, schedule time to review these policies and consider doing this as a team activity. Create a culture around understanding more about AI and company integration. Here's a pro tip, create a mini ethical charter. Let this guide your AI choices and keep your team and stakeholders informed. And here's another idea, create a values alignment checklist where you can match your company's values to the features and policies of various AI tools, then share this checklist with your team. They will thank you later. Next up, I can't wait to show you how to train your AI, not to only think like you, but also sound like you. You'd be surprised.
