- I'm sure it's not a surprise that one of my favorite films is "The Wolf of Wall Street" with Leonardo DiCaprio. I obviously don't agree with a lot of what happened in the true story, but I think for the most part, Jordan Belfort's sales lessons are incredibly valuable. And one of my favorite scenes in the whole movie is the pick up the phone and start dialing speech. For those of you that haven't watched it, in the scene, he's motivating his team to use the phone as much as possible to achieve as many sales of a certain stock as possible. So although he's pushing a sales technique, I don't agree with in ramming it down their throats and calling the prospects until he either buys or dies. He makes an extremely valid point about the fact that phones aren't going to dial themselves. And that calling someone is the most effective way to get their attention and make a sale. People hide behind other ways of reaching customers.…
