Leave the impression you love your work

- Research from Cornell University and the University of Chicago illuminates the four most important words you can say in an interview, and they're not what you'd expect. I love my work. Wait, isn't that contradictory? Aren't you interviewing because you don't love the work you're currently doing or were doing? Well, that might or might not be why you're interviewing, but the point here is the research showed job candidates vastly underestimate how much interviewers want to know that you are intrinsically motivated by the meaning and joy that work brings you, versus being motivated by extrinsic factors like career advancement and status. Said another way, interviewers want to hear you say, I love my work and I'm looking for work that's even more meaningful that allows me to contribute even more, as opposed to you saying, I want to advance my career.
