- Too many amazing candidates are so worn out by the interview process that they completely drop the ball after the interview ends. Remember, this is about building a relationship. Show that you can reflect and give feedback. Show that you care. You should send the recruiter a thank you note. Recruiting is hard work and often thankless, since candidates and hiring managers move on while recruiters have other roles to fill. Appreciating the effort is a touch that will linger in the memory. I'm amazed how many great candidates forget this small gesture. I'm equally amazed at how often that thank you note is reviewed when panelists meet after the interview to compare notes. I also like to provide recruiters some insight into the role and the company that I've picked up during the interview process.
