Define a highlight action
- [Instructor] When you create a dashboard, you give yourself quick access to overviews of your data. You'll probably care most about a subset of that data at any one time. So Tableau lets you create highlights according to rules that you create. I'll show you how to define an action so you can apply a dashboard highlight quickly. My sample file is 12_06_HighlightAction. And you can find it in the chapter 12 folder of the exercise files collection. In this workbook I have displayed the dashboard sheet called Dashboard 1. And on it I have two items. Those are the total value of orders by quarter. And then also the total of orders by category. Let's say that I want to create highlights based on category. To do that, I will go to the dashboard menu. And then click actions. In the actions dialogue box I will make sure that this workbook is selected. That way I'll see every action. Not just the ones for the sheet. Then I will click add action. And from here. I'll click highlight. This…
