- [Instructor] One of the most common ways to summarize categories of data is by using a column chart, which is also called a vertical bar chart. And in this movie, I will show you how to create them. My sample file is called 08_01_Column, and you can find it in the Chapter08 folder of the Exercise Files collection. This Tableau workbook has a connection to My Housekeeping Data workbook, and over on the left in the navigation pane, you can see that I have Order Date, Product Category, and other fields which are available as dimensions. And then down below, I have the Order Number, Order Total, Price, Quantity, and other Measure Values. So let's create a vertical bar chart or column chart to summarize that data. I'll start with Product Category. So I will put Product Category in the Columns shelf. So I've got that. So I have Furnishings, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Office Supplies, and Public Areas. And then I will drag over Order Total, which is the total amount of money spent in each…
