Present Tableau operators and built-in functions

One of the best aspects of Tableau is the selection of built in functions and operators that let you create calculations quickly. In this movie, I will describe some of the more frequently used operators and built in functions that will save you time and help you gather important information about your business. I'll start with mathematical operators, many of which will probably be familiar to you. There's the plus sign for additions that can be done using dates. For example, March 5th + 3 would give you March 8th, and also for combining strings through concatenation. Minus is for subtraction, again, including dates and also for negation. So you can either take the opposite or the equivalent of multiplying a number by negative one by adding a minus sign in front of it. The asterisk is used for multiplication and the forward slash for division. Other mathematical operators that you might use, but are not as common as the first four, are the percentage sign for modular division, which…
