Define a group for other values
When you work with data in Tableau, you will often find that it's useful to combine different elements into a group so you can examine those items as a whole rather than individually. In this movie, I will show you how to define a group, and then also define a second group that incorporates everything you did not add to the original group. I'll show you what I mean in a moment. The sample file that I will use is 07_02 _Other, and you can find it in the Chapter_07 folder of the Exercise Files collection. In this workbook, I have a text table visualization that summarizes sales by region. And let's say that I want to combine three regions into a single group, and those would be Central East, and then Northeast and Southeast. And those three regions incorporate all of the states on the east coast of the United States.
