Create histograms - Tableau Tutorial
From the course: Tableau 2024.1: Essential Training
Create histograms
Analyzing individual values, such as the largest sales day for a month, provides terrific insights into your business. Another way to visualize your data is to separate it into bins. For example, you might want to know how many months had less than $1,000 in sales, how many between 1000 and 2000, and so on. In this movie, I will show you how to visualize data in this manner by creating a histogram. My sample file is 08_06_Histogram, and you can find it in the Chapter_08 folder of the exercise files collection. To create a histogram, all you need is a single measure, so I will drag order total from the sidebar on the data tab to the data area and I get the overall total of all sales. And to summarize those sales values using a histogram I'll click Show me. And then click the histogram button toward the bottom. And I'll click show Me again to close it. So here I can see how sales have been broken down. I have a lot of smaller sales, probably for individuals and then for business sales…
