- The United Kingdom is sick of single use plastics. They're impacting waste disposal and landfills, not just today, but for many decades to come. So some taxpayers want to see a pivot away from these plastics. According to a 2022 "Wall Street Journal" article by Saabira Chaudhuri, Iceland Foods, a UK based grocery chain of about a thousand stores that is aimed at price sensitive customers, they've pledged to make some big changes. In 2018, they announced that they would eliminate plastic packaging in their stores by the end of 2023. Now, I want you to think about your local grocery chain. Think about the foods you buy, the things you need, the packaging that comes home with those purchases.
