- You ever hear that saying the fruit is in the follow-up and ask yourself, what does that really mean? Well, it's an old sales term that refers to that farmers plant their fruit for harvest and then they come back and they check on it again and again and again. And when you're out there in the world super connecting, you have to remember always that the fruit is in the follow-up. Relationships that may have began two or three years ago can come back and bring great fruits to harvest. In particular, I remember I was reaching out to a potential client after 18 months of no communications, really. A month prior, he texted me to wish me happy Father's Day and I remembered him. And so I followed up with an idea to potentially help enhance his firm's marketing.
