If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then social networks must like each other a lot. They borrow successful features like disappearing stories and hashtags from one another. Getting to know these key features is essential so your content marketing can succeed. To help you start, I'm going to walk through three key features on major social networks. First up, let's talk about algorithms, perhaps the defining feature of today's social media platforms from Facebook to LinkedIn to Twitter and TikTok. Rather than displaying content in order of how recently it was posted, newsfeeds prioritize content based on factors such as how much engagement a post has had and the credibility of the profile posting it. So think quality over quantity. Tapping into current events, pop culture, and common references is a great way to drive engagement.
