- Once Sasha returned from changing and she had her performance outfit on, it really stood out from a lot of the other performers that I'd already photographed. It was aesthetically a little bit different. In my mind, it was kind of a Mad Max-y looking thing, and it was monochromatic, which is nice because we're already doing a black and white project. So I was pretty excited just to photograph her because I knew that her performance was going to be different, just from what I had seen her do in her warm-ups, and her outfit was already very different. So we hopped right into it. And since I hadn't seen her actual routine yet, what I wanted her to do was actually set her up with kind of a bland background. So I put her right up against the wall, so it was nice and flat, so all I was focusing on was her and her routine. Because at this moment, I just need to learn what it was she really did.
