- [Instructor] SolidWorks gives us a whole bunch of different options for working with system options, units as well as templates. To get started, let's go ahead and click on this little gear icon here at the top of the screen and you can see we've got two different tabs. You've got these system options, and we have the document properties right here at the top. So under system options, anything you change here, it's going to stay with your installation of SolidWorks. So anytime you create a new document, it's going to use these system options. Now, if you choose the document properties, this is only changing just the document you happen to have open right now. And so the next document that you open, you're going to have to change these document properties again, unless you create a template that has the exact document properties you want and you keep using that template over and over.
