Creating reference coordinate systems
- [Instructor] There's many times when you're working inside a SOLIDWORKS where you want to have a coordinate system to define your mass based upon a specific location of your design. Maybe your moment of inertia or something like that, you want to have it in reference to a certain coordinate system. Well, you can create as many coordinate systems as you'd like and let me show you how to do it. So right over here under Features, come over here to Reference Geometry and click on the dropdown. So notice right over here, we have Coordinate System. Click on that and notice it pops in right at the origin to use. The origin happens to be right there, but you can choose a new position, right? So I can choose a position like this point right over here. I could type that in. And then I can adjust how these little direction arrows are going, right? So notice down here, just try it. So you got the Z going this way, you got X going this way, you got Y going up exactly how the original origin was.…
