- [Narrator] The hole wizard is a very powerful tool inside of SOLIDWORKS, and we've already covered it a little bit. But I want to talk about some common mistakes and some ways to use the tool a little bit more effectively in this video. So the first thing I want to point out is that if you come up here to the hole wizard and just jump into whatever type fastener you want to put in here, if you jump over to positions, the first thing, if you hadn't selected something ahead of time, it's going to ask you to use an existing 2D sketch or create a 3D sketch. That's really not the best way to do something. So go ahead and get out of that. Come over here, select the face first, and as soon as you've selected it ahead of time, then click on the hole wizard. When you jump over to positions, you are automatically in the mode to go ahead and start clicking and adding points. Now notice, right up here at the top of the screen, you're in the sketch toolbar, you have the point command selected…
