- Hey guys, let's talk about patterns. Now, patterns are a very useful tool inside of Solid Works especially if you're making some type of a grid or a bunch of holes in your part. There's a lot of uses for patterns. Now keep in mind though, if we're creating patterns it's creating a lot of geometry very quickly in which you can slow down your computer. So I generally recommend if you're going to make patterns save them towards the end of your part, but to get started let's head up here under the feature tools come over here to linear pattern click on that one, right there, choose a direction, right? I want to choose a direction. I'm going to choose an edge or a face. I can choose a face like this one right here and I can switch the direction. So it's going that way.
