- [Instructor] So far we've been focusing on how the software performs, and how we can catch bugs or issues with the development. This is certainly true with alpha testing, but a beta project is as much about who is being tested as it is about what. The people testing your product represent your target market for your product. The mobile users you select for your test are the people you think match the profiles of those who are most likely to purchase or download your app. Recruitment preparation is important, because when you are ready to test, you need to have users in the wings who are ready to go. Moving a product from alpha and transitioning to beta should be instantaneous. If your users are queued up and ready to participate, that will facilitate a smooth transition into beta.
