- [Instructor] The first phase of testing is often the most difficult. You are embarking on a new journey. You may have covered this ground previously, but you'd be surprised how many new obstacles you'll encounter. You may have run 100 alpha tests before, but each test is unique. The alpha test operates as the first line of testing in a quality project, and not surprisingly, it's the one with the most amount of prep required. During the alpha phase of testing, someone on your team begins to work on assembling a collection of test techniques and people to examine every aspect of the product. Whether it's a one-person operation or a team of quality pros, someone takes ownership of the project. This taking ownership is the first part of preparation for the project.
