Commercial options

I just wanted to touch on the various commercial options. I don't think you will get asked about this in the certification itself. But I think it's important that you know and are aware of these, charging options regardless. So there's some of the factors other than the additions we've just looked at in the previous lesson that influence cost. And one of those is the region where your Snowflake account is located and whether it's an On Demand or Capacity account. Now what does that mean? Well, On Demand is usage based pricing. You're not tied into a long term contract with Snowflake. You really do pay as you go. So as you consume storage and compute and credits, you will pay as you go along and you'll pay a slightly higher cost for that benefit. And the other pricing is Capacity. Now you get a discount built in to your price per credit based upon an upfront capacity commitment. Now, what does that really mean? Well, you might get a customer to say I'm going to buy ten, 20, 30,000 USD…
