When might AI limit our capacity for imaginative thinking?
- When can AI, you know, do what we're talking about, enhancing our ability to mentally project into the future with regard to pre-mortem planning and the like? And when do you think it might limit our capacity for imagination? Do you think that there's limiting factors that we need to look out for? - Maybe, I think there's a limiting factor if you rely on it and only it. And one of the limiting factors, as you call it, might be our own laziness. So let's take the pre-mortem example. I think that using AI as a pre-mortem partner is a brilliant idea. I think that using it and not bringing in other people, and having that similar conversation with other people on your team, is a terrible idea. Again, looking for the metaphors for this new technology. It's another person to consult with. It's another tool, but it's not the only person to consult with, and it's not the only tool that you should use. And I do think, and I like the way you put that. I think there is a limiting factor on AI, in that it's so easy and so fast that it might seduce us into using it and only it. And not relying on other things, not relying on going out for a walk, not relying on going and getting a coffee with somebody. Not relying on six people sitting around a table with a whiteboard.
