Assign keyboard shortcuts
- We're going to map a list of shortcuts into sketch-up. This is really the key to working efficiently. For example, if you map "M" for the move tool you can just press "M" every time you want move to something rather than hunting for the tool in the toolbar or the toolbox or the one of the menus. I provided a master list of shortcuts here in the shortcuts PDF in the chapter one folder and what I've done here is I've mapped twenty-six of the most commonly used functions to the letter of the alphabet. And I've also added a twenty-seventh shortcut for the space bar. The select tool is probably the most common tool of all. And I mapped it to the space bar because it's the largest key and it's easy to hit with either thumb of your hand. Now I've also provided a shortcuts excel file that you can use to save your own shortcuts in the future You can alter what it says here and save your own PDF.
