- [Narrator] Let's seal up this door opening here that's hidden behind the cabinets. Of course we can just fill that in and remove the opening, but it wouldn't address the phasing that we have going in the project through the layers. You see, right now the walls are on the existing layer. And if we fill that in, it would seem like it was that way from the beginning, which isn't true. I think the best approach here will be to separate this wall onto a separate object that we can put on the Demolition layer and then we'll create a new wall that will be on the New layer. And this will come in handy later on when we're doing a before and after comparison with Scenes which is something that we'll be covering in another chapter. So for now, our task is to separate this wall and make it a separate object first and then we can assign that object to the layer Demolition. So let's see how we can do that.
