- When photographing an event, one of the most important things is planning and also having a schedule, and sticking to that schedule will ensure that you get all the story points and all the big moments in your event documented. That said, you don't want to get so locked into your schedule that you aren't malleable enough to the situation to actually document the real moments that are happening. And that's exactly what happened today. One of the girls had to go on an emergency trip to Anchorage, so she had to finish up her sculpture this evening. This is only the second day of a five day sculpting week for them, but plans change, life happens, and she had to finish her sculpture quick. Kevin, one of the instructors, who's also a father of another student, came in and helped her out. Having a schedule in mind enabled me to switch up in the moment and not stick to the bigger schedule but just focus right on that little girl for that moment.
