- Have you ever wondered why a recruiter asks so many questions about your past experience during a job interview? It's because a lot of research supports the idea that the best predictor of what someone will do in the future is what they've done in the past. So if I want to know how you'll handle conflict or interact with customers in the workplace, I'll ask you how you dealt with those issues in previous jobs. It can be tricky to know how to present your best self during a job interview. You should talk about your accomplishments and strengths but rambling on and on about your positive traits can feel disingenuous. It can keep you from coming across as approachable and genuine.
