- [Instructor] The way you share files and folders matters. SharePoint and OneDrive have powerful link sharing options, but without proper controls in place, files might be shared too broadly. As a SharePoint admin, you have the ability to define default link access settings at the organizational level, letting your users share content securely while still meeting their needs. Now let's go back on the policies sharing page. As would the external sharing settings, the defaults for file and folder links lets you establish a baseline for how links behave across the organization. But site admins can always adjust them to meet specific requirements. The two key elements to consider are who can access shared links and what permissions those links grant. Next, you need to select the type of sharing link that's generated by default. I personally like specific people. The link is restricted to named users offering the most control.
